Show Notes
There's a dynamic that's been going on for some time now in the world of self help.
A dynamic instructing that giving is wrong when it happens at personal expense.
A more whole perspective is that what matters is the level of consciousness making the choice.
The truth is there are differences in how people give.
Differences in what loyalty can mean. What friendship can mean. What generosity can mean.
It can feel like noticing differences is negative. But it’s not. It's vital.
Because some people are the kind who are burning themselves first.
It could feel like you're taking it on the chin sometimes...
but you may be playing at a different kind of discipline.
Because there’s a way of giving, even to the point of
self sacrifice –such that it isn't a problem to solve, but a standard to aspire to.
Sometimes it's not the over-giving that's misplaced, but our recognition of and appreciation of the elevated values and desires which guided the giving in the first place.
Even if powerful giving is muddied and confused by people-pleasing too, NO MATTER -
you can right this picture with an adjustment to perspective…
What if you could understand your history of scars to be a weathered coat of protection?
A practice, a discipline-- something no longer needing to be forgiven but praised.
Not all self sacrifice is martyrdom.
When it’s done with consciousness, we call that holy.
And in the light of the truth that you can’t actually lose when you give –
It stops being painful, too.
This is real power.
Be encouraged in your generosity. your loyalty. your values.
Whether you gave out of a misunderstanding of your worth and hurt yourself,
or consciously did it with humility and deep-seated joy at the time, you still did it.
Let's revere the practice that brought us here as a badge of courage, fairly won.
You are further along on the path than you might think.
You’re not alone.

Synopsis
"There aren't necessarily any shortcuts, but you can go faster." Agree or disagree?
In today's short show, I offer that there is a shortcut, and it's this:
Go deeper.
And also, how deep you go determines the outcome you create.
There's only one reason why inner problems (blocks, anxiety, disconnection, doubt, confusion, fear) linger:
You didn't go deep enough.
If the issue originates within, the resolution lies within as well. The right strategy will help you release it for good as long as you go all the way down...
What do you think? Is there a place in your life you know you hold back even though in others you leave it all on the field?
Show Notes
My husband and I were running stairs on Tuesday, and when I told him about this idea I had been playing with for a couple months with - how I kept thinking,
"There aren't necessarily any shortcuts, but there are ways to move faster."
But then I remembered,
there is a shortcut, and it's this:
Go deeper.
I asked him his thoughts, and what came to mind for him was interval training. Intensity, duration, rest times & quantity - how deep do you go with your intervals? What separates the elite and the successful from those who are just going through the motions - it's this. How deep you go determines the outcome you create.
If you don't go deep enough with intervals, they never create an effect. This is foundational for elite athletes. It doesn't matter what you do, but how you do it.
How deeply do you commit to and live your values - not whether you can write them down on paper.
How truly do you forgive - not whether you patch things over and make it through the holiday.
How passionately do you mean it when you kiss your wife - not whether or not you do.
