Episode 23: People Pleasing: An Empowered, Non-Dualistic Take
Synopsis
Today's episode is a short journey - you could say a jaunt: a businessman's trip... Let's look at "people pleasing" for what it really is or can be, which is empowerment when we recognize the potential to do it with consciousness. Labels like "people pleaser" are pejorative and dismissive of the values that are always REALLY driving a choice to please others at personal expense: values that matter, like being loved, or wishing for others to be happy. Today's short show provides a lens by which you can immediately bring greater relief into your own or another's struggle with people pleasing, and the way we judge ourselves because of it. A lens beyond the strife of dualism, that I call Real Power.

Show Notes
It’s easy to talk about values.
It may "feel" like it's easy to make all our decisions to keep the peace, or to please other people – though it is probably taking a toll on you.
But it's ALSO easy to tell people just how little we care about offending them when saying what we believe is right…
Caring too much or caring too little: 2 sides of the same coin.
How deeply you can CARE WHILE sharing space with another person as they hear bad news & more than that: how much you CARE TO GIVE your space to others – even until it hurts – without cutting the conversation off prematurely and calling it “Boundaries”. This is what I call Real Power.
In today’s modern age we’ve learned to criticize ‘caring to the point of self-sacrifice’; we call it people pleasing, and we insult it and ourselves when we self-assign or adopt these negative labels.
People pleasing, while not the brightest embodiment of #personalpower is always coming from a desire to be loved, or a desire for others to be happy.
Separating the motivation driving a behavior from the pattern itself It demeans the values driving it. This is how we further self harm and stay stuck.
My company exists to help others take the quickest path to complete and permanent resolution of core inner problems. Everything that we do here – & all that we don’t do – supports that happening:
Even when it means not marketing to the wound in others.
Sometimes it may feel like you've held yourself back by moving a little slower, but how you do anything is how you do everything – and at Palladium Mind, our most important value is and always has been and always will be Living Our Values.
I call that Congruence.
And practicing it is not only the goal, but also the medicine for us when we are challenged with unconscious issues and pain such as unhappiness, anxiety, disconnection, unhealthy beliefs about personal worth, & even fear.
The reasons and places where you struggle with living your values & living in Congruence, are what I help people with.
There are a million bridges to the other side of where you want to go. I through my work am one of those bridges... 🖤🖤🖤
